About Dr. Barnett

Dr. Melissa Barnett is a Principal Optometrist at the UC Davis Eye Center in Davis, California, and Past President of the Scleral Lens Education Society. A Founding Board Member of the Intrepid Eye Society, she has authored more than 300 articles and delivered over 500 international lectures on specialty contact lenses, ocular surface disease, and advanced lens technologies.

Dr. Barnett holds fellowships from the American Academy of Optometry, the Scleral Lens Education Society, and the British Contact Lens Association, and is an Advanced Certified Contact Lens fitter. Her clinical research and educational work spans decades of advancing patient care in specialty optics. She joined Vicci's advisory board in 2026.
