Going On a Vacation! - Know These 4 Ways How to Clean Sunglasses

Cleaning the Lenses

To keep your lenses looking great, it is important to gently clean them regularly. Mild soapy water will do the trick and prevent any build-up of dirt or grime on the lens. After cleaning, you should always dry off your sunglasses thoroughly before storing them away in their case or bag; this will ensure no moisture stays on the surface of your lens that could cause damage over time.

The best way to clean sunglasses lenses is by using a microfiber cloth as it won't leave scratches as easily as store-bought wipes might do and allows for better control when cleaning with soap and water or other cleaner types if needed such as Windex or even dish soap (no bleach please).

Start With Soap and Water

Start with a small amount of dishwashing soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water, as this can damage the lens coating. The same is true for water that's too cold—you want your lenses to be at room temperature when you clean them.

Use distilled water rather than tap or bottled water, if possible, as it won't leave any residue on your glasses. Remember not to use a paper towel to dry off after rinsing; instead, opt for a soft cloth or microfiber cleaning towel (they're inexpensive and will not scratch your lenses). Finally, don't ever use harsh chemicals like window cleaners or alcohol-based products on your lenses; they may damage coatings or cause other problems down the road.

Do Not Use Paper Towels or Tissue

Do not use paper towels or tissue to clean your sunglasses. Like microfiber cloths, paper towels and tissues can leave behind fibers that scratch your lenses. They also have an abrasive quality that will cause more damage to your sunglasses than good!

In addition, both items are not absorbent and will smear water and dust around your lens instead of removing it.

Use a Clean Microfiber Cloth or Lens Wipe

  • Wash your hands before cleaning your sunglasses.
  • Use a soft, clean cloth to wipe the lenses and smooth out any fingerprints or smudges on the lenses.
  • Wipe in a circular motion from top to bottom, then left to right, and so forth until all areas of both lenses are clean. Don’t wipe in one place for too long as this can create scratches on the lens surface; instead, move quickly over each section of the lens until it is clean and free of dirt or fingerprints.
  • Use a microfiber lens cloth rather than paper towels or tissues that can leave behind lint residue when wiping off your glasses after use

Cleaning the Frame

Cleaning the frame of your sunglasses is simple, but it's important to avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners. To begin, take a mild dishwashing soap and gently rub it into the frame of your glasses. Make sure to pay special attention to any areas where dirt or oil has built up. Rinse with water, then use a microfiber cloth to dry your sunglasses thoroughly.

Avoid Using Harsh Chemicals or Polish

Avoid using ammonia-based cleaners, which can cause eyeglasses to turn yellow. Hydrogen peroxide and bleach are also not good for your glasses.

If you can't avoid using polish, try to find products that are specifically made for cleaning sunglass lenses. These products should be free of alcohol and ammonia, so they don't harm the plastic in your frames or lenses. Polishes with silicone or oils will also help prevent smudges on sunglasses overall.

Keeping Your Sunglasses Safe When You’re Not Wearing Them

When you’re not wearing your sunglasses, it’s important to keep them safe. If you travel with a case, then put them in there so they can be protected and kept clean. Another option is to get a soft pouch that keeps the glasses from being scratched or damaged while they are being transported.

It’s also important not to leave your sunglasses on top of your head when you aren't wearing them as it could cause damage to the lenses and frames over time.

It is important to clean your sunglasses often to prolong their life.

It is important to clean your sunglasses often to prolong their life. There are several ways you can do this, but one of the best ways is by using a microfiber cloth. You can purchase them at most stores or online. If you don't have access to one, you could use a cotton rag instead of relying on water and soap alone.

When cleaning with water, be sure not to get any moisture inside of your glasses as this can cause damage over time. Soap should also be avoided because it may leave behind residue which will only become more difficult for future cleanings and damage their appearance over time as well.

A Mama's Boy's Love for His Mother

Vicci™ Eyewear was inspired by a son’s love for his mother and his passion for fashion.

David Abramovici, the Founder of Vicci™ Eyewear, came from a family of artisans dedicated to craftsmanship since the 1920s.

David recalls that when his mother was around 65 years old, she would always ask him to stop by the local pharmacy to pick up some generic readers.

He would spend at least 20 minutes every time he went there, just standing in front of a rack full of tacky, ugly readers. It was difficult for him to choose a "nice" design that he thought would look good on his mother.

His mother enjoyed attending events and spending money on her dresses and accessories. Unfortunately, the readers are often underwhelming, and she was embarrassed to ever be seen wearing them. Like most women, she'd usually hide it in her lovely purse and would always look around before using them to read the menu or bill.

David wondered why there weren’t more choices for high-quality and fashionable custom readers for older women like his mother. Something she’d actually love to wear and be proud to be seen wearing.

And that’s when it hit him!
